Charlotte & Iain, Coastal Wedding, Marine Villa, Edinburgh
Originally due to get married in May 2020, like so many weddings last year, Covid put paid to that.
As the year crawled along and it didn’t look like things were going to change at any point soon, Charlotte & Iain decided the most important thing to them was becoming Mr & Mrs. After stumbling upon Archerfield Estate by chance, they decided to see if there was a house they could rent which would be private and picturesque. As luck would have it, there was. So between August and October, whilst keeping it a secret in case it couldn’t go ahead again, they started planning for the second time.
That’s when the lovely Charlotte found The Cheeky Hound and I’m so pleased she did! Charlotte really is one of the happiest people I’ve ever met, and, as a fairly new business, we couldn’t have wished for a nicer couple to work with.
Charlotte knew the look she was after - a relaxed, fun, outdoor wedding. And with the views this stunning villa had to offer, who could blame her. Although most of the props were hired from The Cheeky Hound, the styling and set up was all Charlotte’s doing. For the ceremony there was bunting adorning the outside of the villa, a beautiful aisle made up of vintage rugs and hurricane lanterns which overlooked the North Sea. Gorgeous cross back chairs hired from the wonderful @vintagegathering with herringbone blankets on each chair, as well as beautiful flowers from @poppyfloraldesign.
Alongside this there was a low seating area made up of rugs, pouffe, apple crates, coffee sack cushions and a fire pit with a giant nought and crosses and toss the ring game. Other decor included a beautiful welcome sign on a wooden easel, a vintage set of ladders displaying flowers and photos, vintage drinks trolley filled with sweets and champers. An intimate dinner was provided by the brilliant @joskitchen. I think you will agree, it looks amazing.
Charlotte confessed to not sleeping on the run up to the wedding, with fear of it being cancelled again and sad that so many loved ones weren’t going to be there, especially their closest friends from Australia. However, on arrival at the villa, Charlotte said “every worry and bit of sadness disappeared and I let the happiness envelope me. I realised, after the wedding, that I had possibly lost sight of what was important with the first wedding and am grateful that I got to soak up every second focusing on Iain, Ava, Barkley and our immediate families”.
Congratulations again to Charlotte and Iain.
